My only form of transportation to work is my mother or father. My father works out of town for 2 weeks at a time, and my mother works from 6:00 in the morning to 6:00 in the evening. Due to our economic hardship currently, she does an excessive amount of weekend and weekday field trips for the school district which can range all day. This accompanied with her regular work hours can make her an unsustainable form of transportation to work. The third income would help out the household greatly as my father recently got employed at a new job, but receives a drastic downgrade in income compared to his previous job. He is the main source of income and we are dependent upon him, as my mother makes $15 driving school buses. A third income would aid in expenses for school, bills, and food for the family. I am currently an only child, and nobody besides us three reside in the residence.

That is over a two-hour drive from our home. I work and im in school and can’t get her to the doctor. Her father does not have a license and cant drive. Would her medical issues qualify her for a hardship license at 15?

Hi Sierra, the question to ask yourself is, “Does your family face an unusual economic hardship and are they being deprived of the basic necessities of life?” If the answer to that question is, “Yes,” then you may be eligible for a hardship license. Click on link in the article above to apply for the license.

I have before and after school practices and with them working I have no way to get to school.

My wife is 72 and has panic attacks and is on panic meds and we never know if she can drive at all and at most can’t go very short distances, talking about just a few blocks. Our 17 year old adopted daughter who is about to leave for college over 100 miles away has been our source of dependable transportation to help me in getting our other adopted kids to school. She leave this summer for college. Her brother turns 14 this April and I’m already teaching him how to drive and need him to be a source of transportation if I am sick and want to know if he would qualify for hardship at age 15 so do I need to get him registered for driver ed as I did his sister if he might qualify for a hardship license.

There is hardly a day where someone can bring me around without making them late, or close to being late for work. My mom’s house is very far away from our school, definitely not within walking distance, and my dad isn’t as far, but still far. I usually barely make it to school, and practice on time, if I even am on time

My mom is technically “disabled” but she can still drive and walk and everything. But she does have serious medical problems. What is the chance i could get a hardship? Would it be good if i said like “I have to take her to her doctors appointments” & would she also be able to keep her license
