As far as driving schools go, they are not doing much good today, because today’s drivers are more careless, and less skilled than ever before.

I don’t feel this guy knows at all what he is talking about. True there are some technical advances in today’s cars. The sterio systems are much better, tires are better, and they are more fuel efficient. The overall quality of the cars today isn’t nearly as good as back then. The cars were heavier, stronger, and pretty reliable back then. I do feel today’s throw always are better in rush hour stop and go traffic, partly due to being lighter, but the old cars were much better highway cruisers. The old cars could get to 100,000 miles back in a day when people rarely changed the oil. Yes they can be hot inside, but only on a hot summers day. Today’s cars are hot inside too. The old cars had higher roofs, folding windows up front, and large vents to let the hot air out. The old cars could be driven much faster on gravel roads due to heavy duty suspensions. Plus the old cars performed very well considering they only had three speed transmissions, and weighed two tons. The fuel efficiency isn’t that much difference considering the old cars had bigger and more powerful engines, and were heavy. The only thing that’s really better today is the over exagerrated advertising.

Older vehicles had steel bumpers so they could BUMP, what your new car has is CRUMPLERS with sensors in them that inflate airbags that can decapitate heads and break limbs also rendering the car a total loss after the SRS has been deployed.

Older vehicles were harder to speed in – a driver was better connected to the vehicle and the road you could feel the road through the wheel, the engine rev through the pedal and if you had a standard transmission you could feel the level of fuel consumption by way of drive train lash.

And the worst thing about new cars, the amount of them that are built, sold and crushed mere years later where as classics could be maintained with fuel, lubricants and maintenance parts would last a million miles without major failures.
I’ll keep my safe sane reliable and easy to maintain clunker for another 30 years while you trade in crappy for crappier every 2 years and sink deeper into debt and banality.
